A world-class classical pianist who refuses confinement
Hui Wu, praised by The New York Times for her “sparkling” artistry, is a world-class classical pianist whose performances shatter expectations, transforming each concert into an immersive, multidimensional journey that reimagines timeless classical music for the present moment.

pianist composer pedagogue creative producer
Hui is a passionate advocate for contemporary music and interdisciplinary collaboration. Her work includes world premieres and groundbreaking projects, most notably a collaboration with Raiford Rogers Modern Ballet, where her live performance and musical direction became an integral part of the choreography itself. Her chamber collaborations feature some of today’s most distinguished soloists, and her upcoming album devoted to the music of Philip Glass continues her mission to expand the classical canon.
Beyond performance, Hui is a composer, creative producer, and visionary educator. She has premiered works in collaboration with The Juilliard School’s Dance Division and led projects by leading contemporary composers worldwide. Years before online music education became mainstream, she independently designed and launched a fully supported collegiate piano curriculum, a testament to her belief that tradition thrives when paired with bold innovation.
Born in China, Hui began piano studies at four and gave her debut recital at thirteen, performing all twelve Chopin Études. She holds degrees from The Juilliard School and USC Thornton School of Music, studying with some of the most respected teachers of her generation. A prizewinner of numerous international competitions, she is also a frequent adjudicator for major piano competitions across the United States.
Dr.Hui Wu is based in Los Angeles, where she shares her life with her family and three cheeky cats, all of whom firmly believe the Steinway piano is their personal sofa.
